Description

There is an idea in Judaism that just looking at Hebrew letters is good for the soul. They are, after all, the letters of creation! Imagine starting your day while soothing your soul with Hebrew letters and also improving your Hebrew reading at the same time!

Barbara Shaw’s aleph-bet coffee mug features the Hebrew alphabet in bright blue printed on white porcelain. The artwork on the drinking mug is an adaptation of an Italian calligrapher named Giambattista Palatino’s (1515 – 1575) work.

You can surprise a loved one with this practical and education mag or treat yourself – it’s a great way to learn Hebrew!

Barbara Shaw

Barbara Shaw was born in Sydney, Australia, and made the bold decision to follow her heart and move to Israel in 1986.

Barbara has an incredible eye for color and design. When looking for unique, made-in-Israel gifts, she discovered that what she was looking for did not exist. She immediately went to work and designed bright, uniquely Israeli aprons, dish towels, and tote bags that she could give as gifts.

In 2008 she formally established her business. She expanded her line to include designs on ceramics, serving-ware, wood, glass, stationary, perspex, baby gifts, a Yiddish line, and t-shirts.

Barbara’s goal is to create beautiful, practical modern items that capture the spirit of Israel. Her tag line is “Jewish gifts that smile;) And it is hard to imagine not feeling joyful when looking at her functional art.

Barbara’s diverse team, which now includes her son Boaz, who is working on business development with his mom, is committed to excellence. All of Barbara’s gorgeous creations are made in her Jerusalem workshop.
