This deeply moving book from Gefen Publishing House serves as a powerful tribute to the six million Jewish lives lost in the Holocaust. Conceptualized by Phil Chernofsky, And Every Single One Was Someone presents a strikingly minimalist yet profoundly impactful format—every page is filled with the word “Jew” printed over and over, creating a haunting visual representation of the immense scale of the tragedy.
The book contains nothing but this single word, repeated six million times, reinforcing the idea that behind every number was a life, a story, and a soul. It challenges readers to confront the magnitude of the loss and serves as a solemn memorial for those who perished.
Published by Gefen Publishing House, a respected Israeli publisher specializing in Jewish history, culture, and education, this book is a meaningful addition to any home, library, or institution dedicated to Holocaust remembrance. Whether used as an educational tool or a personal reflection piece, And Every Single One Was Someone is a poignant reminder of the past and the importance of remembering those who were taken.
