From Israel’s northern landscape comes a Thousand Island sauce shaped by the flavors of home kitchens and the quiet care of traditional cooking. Its texture is smooth and creamy with small flecks of herbs and vegetables that give each spoonful a natural, handmade character. The first taste brings gentle sweetness from tomato and a mellow tang from lemon and vinegar. As it settles, the flavor broadens into something softer and more rounded, with hints of garlic and spice lifting the richness without overwhelming it. Drizzled over crisp lettuce, spread on sandwiches, or served alongside grilled chicken or fish, it adds warmth, color, and an easy depth to everyday meals.
Aunt Berta’s roots lie in the Galilee, where family tables were shaped by simple produce, homemade preserves, and sauces prepared slowly with whatever the season offered. Those traditions remain at the heart of the company’s work today. Each dressing is blended with an understanding of how flavors come alive when they’re given time and attention. This Thousand Island sauce carries that approach – balanced, inviting, and created with the steady touch of a small Israeli producer whose craft continues to grow from a history of family cooking and connection to the land.

Aunt Berta – Thousand Island Sauce
Aunt Bertha’s factory is located southern end of the Carmel ridge between the hills of Zichron Yaacov, where it was established fifty years ago. When Berta started her business, it was with recipes from her European family. Berta took advantage of the many fresh, delicious fruits that grew close to her home, and she hasn’t looked back.
Today the team at Aunt Berta still prepares their delicious products according to the recipes created by Berta. They never use artificial colors, preservatives, or chemicals, rather relying on old-fashioned techniques and the bounty from the fields of Israel
