Rabbi Avi Baumol was born in New York and was educated in Yeshiva University High School and college. During his studies in Israel at Yeshivat Har Etzion, he began to study and write on the Tehillim. He received his rabbinical ordination from Yeshiva University as well as from Rabbi Zalman Nechemiah Goldberg in Israel.

In addition, Rabbi Baumol received an MA in Jewish History from the Bernard Revel Graduate School. Today he lives in Efrat, and teaches at Machon Maayan, Yeshivat Shvilei HaTorah, Yeshivat Har Etzion, and the Zayit Kollel.
