In Israel, the name Jerusalem appears in daily language, in written text, and in the objects people choose to keep within reach.
This candle is made from 100% natural beeswax, formed by hand using methods established in 1992. The wax has a dense, smooth structure and a natural scent that comes directly from the material itself. When lit, it produces an even flame and a warm, consistent light that has long been used in homes and in places of prayer.
At the center of the candle, the Hebrew verse אם אשכחך ירושלים תשכח ימיני is formed directly into the wax. The text reads, “If I forget you, Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill” (Psalm 137:5). The lettering rises clearly from the surface and remains legible as part of the candle itself. As the candle burns, the raised text softens into the surrounding wax.
The box opens like a bound volume and reveals a printed map of Israel across the inside panel. The candle rests within a fitted compartment, accompanied by a printed insert. Each element is placed with order, making the presentation part of the object itself.
Placed on a table or shelf, the candle maintains its presence whether lit or unlit.
The verse appears within the wax, and the map of Israel is revealed inside the box, placing both text and place directly into the space where the candle is kept.

Jerusalem Beeswax Candle
Craft’s Origin is a boutique Israeli company located in an agricultural settlement, Givat Nili, in northern Israel. It combines art, agriculture, and sustainability with traditional designs and collaborations with other small boutique companies.
The family at the heart of Craft’s Origin is the next generation of farmers living on Moshav Givat Nili. After time away from the family farm’s verdant offering, they returned with a desire to find new ways to use the surplus harvest from the peach, nectarine, and olive trees. To use all that was left from the vineyard’s harvest and raise awareness for the essential role bees play in a farmer’s life.
They make beautiful beeswax candles by hand, revive ancient crafts of the Holy Land, support farming edible greens, and maintain a bee farm. They are researching ways to use surplus peaches to manufacture 100% natural unrefined peach kernel oil.
The Craft’s Origin family weaves together old, modern, renewable, and ancient agriculture to preserve the Holy Land’s traditions and beauty.
