One of the most cherished moments of the Jewish week is the lighting of the Shabbat candles, a peaceful tradition that marks the arrival of Shabbat. As the candles are lit, the household pauses to take a deep breath, acknowledging the sanctity of the day and often offering a personal prayer. This custom, stretching back to Sarah, the wife of Abraham, is said to have been blessed with miraculous candles that would burn for an entire week. By lighting your own Shabbat candles, you are joining in this ancient and beautiful Jewish tradition.
To enhance this sacred moment, Emanuel has crafted his signature enamel and silver Shabbat candlesticks, reflecting his love for the Holy City of Jerusalem. These elegant candlesticks are designed to hold either pillar candles or votives, beautifully complementing the light and peace of the Shabbat candles while bringing a touch of Jerusalem into your home.
A centerpiece of every Shabbat table is the challah cover, an essential item for the shared meal. Elevating the beauty of your table, this stunning blue embroidered challah cover is made of raw silk, adorned with a vibrant Jerusalem scene in gold and bright colors. The words Shabbat v’Yom Tov (For Shabbat and Holidays) are elegantly stitched in Hebrew, creating a meaningful connection to the Holy City as you celebrate Shabbat and the holidays.
Both the candlesticks and challah cover are not only functional but also serve as beautiful reminders of Jewish tradition and the peace of Shabbat, adding elegance and meaning to your weekly celebration.
