In Israel, marzipan is often shaped by local fruit, seasonality, and customs passed down through generations. Fenster’s Cherry Marzipan builds on this tradition by combining a classic almond base with the bright character of cherry, creating a confection that feels festive yet familiar. Its deep red color reflects the natural fruit content and connects the candy to the tart, vibrant flavors commonly found in Israeli desserts.
This marzipan is made from finely ground almonds blended with sugar into a smooth, supple paste, then gently mixed with cherries that naturally tint the candy and add a delicate fruit note. Small pieces of cherry are visible throughout, offering subtle contrast in both texture and flavor. Almond richness leads, while the cherry notes emerge gradually as the marzipan melts.
Each piece is individually wrapped in gold foil, twisted at the ends to preserve freshness and make it easy to share. This style of wrapping is typical of marzipan in Israeli homes — kept on hand for guests, served with coffee, or placed in bowls near the entrance as a simple gesture of hospitality.

Fenster’s Cherry Marzipan
Founded by the Fenster family, Fenster’s Toffee makes old-fashioned sweet treats with a distinctly Israeli character. Before he ever worked with chocolate, Oded had a surprising first career — he was a professional basketball player in Israel, until a serious knee injury cut it short. Changing direction, he traveled to Belgium to learn the art of chocolate making alongside some of Europe’s most respected chocolatiers, then returned home to open his own workshop.
Today Oded and Eyal craft chocolates, toffees, and marzipans entirely by hand, inspired by the authentic flavors of Israel — delicate marzipan, rich pistachios, warm cinnamon, and bright orange. Each piece has a real sense of place, carrying the aromas of ripe fruit, fragrant spices, and the people who lovingly make these sweets by hand.
Their workshop is also a place of purpose. The Fensters employ and train young adults with developmental disabilities, giving them meaningful work, real skills, and a space where they are treated with respect and dignity.
Looking ahead, there’s plenty more on the way: a honey toffee for Rosh Hashanah, sour toffee snacks for kids, a new marzipan bar, chocolate-coated marzipans, unique marmalade flavors, a blondie crunch, and other sweet surprises still to come.
“Our message to you is simple: we hope you feel the true meaning of what we are building together. Your support gives us the strength to grow our business, create jobs, and continue making our handmade sweets during one of the most challenging times Israel has faced. In return, we hope every bite brings you a little moment of happiness and a deeper, heartfelt connection to the beauty, flavors, and spirit of our country. Thank you for everything!”
