This spice blend brings the native flavors of the Judean hills straight into your kitchen. Inspired by the ancient herbs and seasonings of the region, Miriam’s Rub combines garlic, salt, and a selection of hand foraged herbs and spices that add warmth and depth to every dish. The blend takes its name from Miriam the Prophetess, the sister of Moses, whose leadership and strength guided the Israelites through the wilderness. Her story is woven into the history of Jewish cooking, where simple, natural ingredients were used to nourish and sustain the Jewish people.
The rub works beautifully with meats, chicken, roasted vegetables, soups, and stews. The combination of herbs and spices recalls the flavors used in ancient kitchens, like those mentioned in Exodus 16:23: “Bake what you will bake today, and boil what you will boil.” These words remind us of the importance of preparing food with intention and tradition, just as it has been done for millenia.
Yehuda Miller, the expert behind this blend, lives with his family in the Gush Etzion settlement of Bat Ayin. His deep love of cooking and knowledge of the native plants of Judea led him to create a seasoning that reflects the land’s rich history. Each jar is filled with spices that have grown in the Holy Land for generations, connecting the past with the present.

Miriam’s Rub by Judean Spices
Yehuda Miller established his boutique business in the Jewish settlement of Bat Ayin, located in the rolling Judean hills. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of the plants that grow naturally in this region and has developed a reputation as a healer in the area.
He has spent his adult life learning about the naturally growing plants in Judea and finding ways to release their healing potential. Yehuda, a religious man, feels strongly that the healing properties of plants grown in this area are more pronounced because this part of the Holy Land is the region where prophecy took place and its influence on the land is still felt.
Each spice blend that he develops is born out of his love for cooking, and for the unique flavors available from the plants growing in this region.
