Chocolate Halva Donuts

For the donuts:
Flour 1 Cup
Sugar ½ Cup
Cocoa powder ¼ Cup
Cinnamon ½ Tsp
Baking soda ½ Tsp
Vanilla ½ Tsp
Egg 1
Yogurt (full fat) 6 Tbsp
Milk ¼ Cup
Vegetable oil ¼ Cup
For the glaze:
Tahini Cup
Powdered sugar 4 Tbsp
Milk 3-4 Tbsp
For topping:
Crumbled halva pieces
Sesame seeds (optional)
Pearl sugar (optional)
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375°F [190°C] degrees. Grease the donut pan.
Step 2
Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, cinnamon and baking soda in a mixing bowl.
Step 3
In another smaller bowl whisk together vanilla, egg, yogurt, milk, and oil.
Step 4
Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix.
Step 5
Spoon batter into the greased donut pan.
Step 6
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the tops spring back when you touch them.
Step 7
While the donuts are baking, make the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, tahini and 2 Tbsp milk. If the glaze seems too thick, add another 1-2 Tbsp of milk.
Step 8
Let the donuts cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
Step 9
Remove and glaze immediately. Top with crumbled halva and sesame seeds if desired.
